This past year we did a little remodeling in the house. I thought that would be a great time to claim a space. The bonus room had been everything from a TV room to an extra bedroom.. so why not a craft room? I did a lot of research on how to set the room up and store all my
Anyway.. on one side of the room I put all my sewing supplies.. looks neat huh? Not anymore, that didn't last long.. although the storage does keep everything pretty organized.. see my buttons up there?
I can actually tell if I have what I need know.
Don't judge.. I know that is a lot of fabric.. actually there is more now.
This is the old island from the kitchen
I plan on giving it a little "Martha" redo in the near future.. some silver pulls.. and maybe a coat of paint.
This granite counter top is awsome for the glue gun and cutting .. no worries about messing something up.. the glue peels right off the granite when it dries. The chairs work well for me and my granddaughter when we have craft day.. she loves the room.. so do my dear daughters.
The serger table..
Speaking of Martha... that little craft holder turns kind of like a lazy susan.. that is Martha's, from Michaels. With a 1/2 off coupon was a great purchase.
I put the printer on a table that I got at Ikea for only $5 !! I'm telling you.. you can really stretch your dollars there. I have got to hide the hanging plug..it is for a larger long floresent light..you know when you get older you have to have extra light? By the way, the sunlight I get thru this window is great. The computer sits on this desk because my embroidery machine runs off it so it needs to be close to the machine. Do you see my baby's bed under the computer? My little poodle Gidget always joins me when I craft or sew, so I HAD to put a bed in there for her.
I need some window covers and art.. the Graphic Fairy has some good vintage sewing prints... huh?? be thinking. What about the windows?
Here is the craft side.. these bins hold sooo much stuff.. stamp pads, ribbons, fabrics, adhesives, paints..on and on.. so nice to have everything out of site.
The stamps, beadings, and the paper supplies in the shorter storage. The drawers slide out so easy and holds a lot. The stamps fit perfect.. I can see the tops so I know what design I have.. no more digging around hunting for a particular stamp. I know I have a lot of stuff.. but keep in mind...I am old.. I mean, mature. Lots of years to collect.
Thought I would hang some vintage art to go with the spools and threads...something like this from the Graphic Fairy, any other suggestions of places to get graphics .. she is great and hers are free.. I like that price.
I have a lot of old patterns that have lovely art work.. any ideas on using those? You guys are so creative. It's like going to school.. I love it.
I robbed Mom for some of those threads.. I love them because she has had them since I was a kid.. whew.. I meant before I was born.. hee, hee
Thanks for stopping by.. I can't wait to hear your suggestions.

WOW! What an awesome craft room ... many gals (including myself) will be envious of this great space! *Becca*
I just love it, Beverly, everything is so perfect and lovely! I would love to have this type of arrangement at my house. Your fabric collection is wonderful and I like that you have a spot for your dog (I'm a dog lover, myself). It's great you persevered and brought everything home you wanted. Really, really looks great!
P.S. I'm following now!
Beverly, you have an awesome craft/sewing room and just proving that women can "get it done". I don't do a lot of crafting or sewing, but I'd still love to have a room like this. Well done!
Such a fabulous room. I absolutely love it. Everything looks fabulous and the storage is unreal. Great job. Hugs, Marty
WOW! How pretty and inpiring is this room Beverly. Gorgeous decor' throughout. Lovely!
I featured your blog on my latest post. I hope it's okay with you.
Warmly, ~Melissa :)
That is one fine craft room!! I am green with envy! Love it! Visiting by way of Melissa's blog! Blessings ~ Tanna
What a fantastic room! I know what you mean about cramming as much in as you can in a truck. My sister and I do that every time we go to Round Top, TX.
You could color copy your favorite old patterns and frame them. I have some from my grandmother and I have been wanting to make prints out of them.
Can't wait to see what kinda art work you come up with.
What a fantastic room!!! So much organization and so much room to do crafts...it's great! :)
Thanks so much! I appreciate the compliments and suggestions on how to decorate the room. You guys always have the best ideas.
I am so inspired by your room. I need to get my sewing off the dining room table and organize a space. You thought of everything.
I love it. I also love your wine glasses you found, that's why I'm featuring them on my "Top Ten Fav Picks" at Boogieboard Cottage. Have a great weekend! Mary :O)
Hi Beverly! Sorry about deleting my comment. My fingers typed faster than my brain works and my comment was a mess. You have created a wonderful craft room and I love that you are using the island as your work table. Ikea is the best for buying things to get organized. Thanks for having my party button on your sidebar.
xo,
Sherry
Thank you Mary and Sherry. I appreciate your link parties. Mary thank you for featuring me.
Wow! What a great room to craft in. I'm sure you all looked like the Beverly Hillbillies driving home with all your treasures. lol. Someday if I get brave enough I'll share what I call the war room... trust me it's nothing has great has your room. This certainly makes me want to jump in and redo it... after all the painting is done upstairs that is. Speaking of painting, I'm off to finish the dining room.. hugs ~lynne~
That is one fantastic craft room Beverly. We sure think alike, I've been using IKEA to "outfit" a dish room in my husbands old office. One last 2 1/2 hour drive to the other side of the state next week should finish it off. Your room looks perfect and now I want to go back into my craft/sewing and make it beautiful and organized like yours. Thanks for sharing and great inspiration.
Oh thanks so much guys! Your comments made me smile and I needed it on one hectic day. I sure hope you show off your rooms when you are done. I am looking forward to seeing them.
Wow! What a wonderful storage, craft, sewing & puppy sleeping room Beverly! You did an amazing job!!! Thanks so much for sharing!
thank you so very much..
This is an absolutely amazing space! I think your idea to use the kitchen island in there was pure genius and we are so glad that you came by and linked up to Inspiration Friday!

Wow! It looks great. I love love the buttons.
Your craft room needs no suggestions from me!
You have it just perfect!
So nice that part of your collection is your mother's. I have some of my mom's old tins full of buttons and some of her trims too. I doubt that I will ever use them since they were hers. :)
