Are These French Country or Country?

Hope had a great 4th. Somehow every holiday lately I end up a little tired, since we usually have the family functions at our house. Still, I love having the family.
Since it was a long weekend, when I got off work Friday, I thought  I would stop at Home Goods. Just in case they had something I needed. Well of course they did..

A hog and a sheep! Don't you just love them? My question is this, are these Country or French Country. I prefer to think of them as Country French.. or is it French Country? I thought my girls would hate them but to my surpise the loved them! (That would lead me to believe they are not country) I really thought I would get that look and then a, "mommm" but nope.. they actually loved them. You have to love Home Goods for $20 a piece for a hog and a sheep.
I had a little trouble figuring out where to put them but think I found a good spot. For now, they are setttled in beside the hutch.. yep the hutch.. I am still waiting for Chalk Paint to arrive for.
So what do you think? French Country, Country French or just plain Country? Do you ever stop in HG to find something you need?

I would definitely say Country French. Love them and now I want them, too, but am out of wall space.

I would say more French Country too. Love HG but I have to drive a couple of hours to get to one. Mr. Hubby thinks that's a "good thing". I can't wait to see how the hutch looks after she gets her facelift.

Love them! Was in my first Home Goods last week and found a few had-to-have things myself! I'm your newest follower!

Based on the language (English) and the font, I would vote country. What about English Country? But whatever, they are cute.

I agree with Janette above....French country pics, but English country writing....."Frenglish country"??? Whatever, they are still so cute! BTW, we painted a hutch and removed the little gallery style trim (like your hutch has) and really liked it. Either way it will be wonderful! Linda

I vote pure American country. If they were written in French, I'd go that route. Either way, they are a cute addition to your wall. :-) Sue

I'd go with English Country too! They are great pictures and look wonderful in your space. We don't have a Home Goods around where I live....I'm thinking that might be a good thing!

Hi! I looked back and found my hutch re-do (small hutch) on March 14, 2009. Since then, we have painted the red walls antique white - so much better. The lighting isn't great, but I noticed that my hubby sawed off the trim!

I would call them "AWESOME". I Love them and the farm names as well. Such a classic addition.
I am still trying to figure out American's definition of French. I thought I had it figured out when as a younger homemaker "French Provincial" was the fashion. Then I found that the ancient Chinese and Greek used the beautiful cabriole leg eons before anyone thought of the French.
My vote is for "Awesome". LOL.
I am visiting from Charm of Home.

Country French / French Country. Tomato / Tomatoe. Either way -- they're lovely and you did a great job choosing a spot for them!

Your hog and sheep are wonderful! They right at home in your house. I think they do look English country, but the magazines have been calling country international because everyone is mixing elements form all different countries. So, I say it's all good. Thanks for linking it to Home Sweet Home!
